In Linnaeus' Footsteps: Orchids, Fossils, and Birds of Southern Sweden
May 29 to 31st – Möckelsnäs Herrgård (Mockelsnas Country Estate)
Food at Möckelsnäs Country Estate - The kitchen of the estate is using organic products as much and often as possible. In the light and beautiful dining-hall, with a fantastic view of the lake’s mirroring waters, your meal is guaranteed to be delicious, no matter what you choose from the varied menu.
May 31 - June 3rd – Solberga Gård (Solberga Farm)
Garlic, asparagus and pumpkins are specialties of the farm and all of the production is organic and following the directions of KRAV (Swedish organization that sets criteria for organic farming) since 1988. Depending on the weather, we can have lunch outside on the farm amongst the blooming trees.
June 3rd to 4th – During our stay at Aspö Lotstorn (Aspö Pilot tower)
Dinner at Drottningskärs kastell - The dinner will be served at Drottningskärs kastell, once described by Admiral Nelson of the British Royal Navy as 'impregnable' - and it looks it. It offers the visitor a journey within time in a unique environment and medieval setting. Here you can have dinner in a room with meter thick walls and later wander home to the Pilot Tower.
The well preserved fortress was once built to defend the entrance to the Harbor of Karlskrona. It was dominated by the mighty dajon, a defense union intended for artillery. During the 300 years that the fortress was on duty, it never needed to fire even one shot in battle against the enemies of the country.
June 4th to 6th – Agda Lund Bed & Breakfast
The food in Österlen
During our visit in Kivik and Österlen in Skåne we will enjoy the food that partly made this area so widely known. Österlen is often nick-named the “Provence of Sweden”. Here the praised restaurants are rich in number and the products used in the cooking are nearly always locally produced. Bon Appétit!
